The Pug Dog Club of America sponsors a National Specialty show each year. Each show is hosted by a different region of the club, and held within that region's geographical area. This show, often referred to as the National, is an opportunity for breed enthusiasts to exchange information, socialize, continue their education, raise funds for the club and other worthwhile causes, evaluate Pugs from around the country, hold the annual club meeting, and - by no means last - hold competitions. The 2012 National Specialty will be held in San Jose, California, October 14 -20.
